In Fade We Trust: The Gospel of a Good Barber
Finding a good barber is harder than finding a matching sock after laundry day. A good barber is part artist, part therapist, and part wizard. If you understand that a good barber is all those things, then you’ve probably are fortunate to have a good, trusting, and reliable barber. Here is why having a great barber is low-key one of life’s greatest blessings-broken down into three essential categories.

The Trust Factor
A good barber understands that when you ask, “just clean up the sides,” you don’t mean.. “give me the army buzz cut special.” They know your hair better than your own blood. They know your cowlicks, the right fade for your hair, and the thinning patch on the back of your head. You can sit down and relax because you trust them. That’s a type of trust that no dating app can offer. Great barbers will also talk you out of poor choices, whether thats your hair or in life.

The Barber is In
A barber is a lot like a therapist that will have you feeling comfortable in their chair. You go in for a haircut and leave feeling lighter, both emotionally and physically. Great barbers don’t just give you a clean fade. They will listen to your rants, crack a good joke, and drop some wisdom. If you’re going through a breakup, they will hit you with a fresh fade and tell you that, “you’re better off.” Did you get a new job? Don’t worry because your barber have you looking crispy for that first day. You tell your barber you have family portraits tomorrow, they will make sure you look great so you don’t get made fun of years down the road. A great barber is cheaper than a therapist, AND they give you a mirror at the end so you can see your progress.

The Glow-Up
There aren’t many things that feel better than walking out of the barbershop with a clean cut. You feel different and people look at you differently. And not just because of the haircut, but because of the confidence you’re feeling. You know you’re looking good. It’s feels like your barber sprinkled a little “main character energy” into your pomade or gel. Whether its date night, a new job, or just a Saturday morning – you feel unstoppable. I have a great barber with a family-owned and operated shop and he makes me feel at ease when I walk in and like a model when I walk out.
So here is to the barbers that keep it old-school. Steady hands, sharp lines and great music. It’s more than just a haircut, it’s a tradition, a trust, and a piece of community. Check out my Instagram for more photos of this great barbershop.
